Car Wash Dry: Reviews of IBIZ, RGS Labs, No Wet, Dri Wash ‘n Guard, and Ezdetailer
If you want your car to look great but don't have time to use traditional wax and car wash, dry formulas can be a lifesaver. These all-in-one cleaning products allow you to clean, shine, and protect your car in just a few simple steps and without the need for water. Best of all, it takes 30 minutes or less to finish an entire vehicle.
Some of the most popular brands on the market include IBIZ, RGS Labs, No Wet, Dri Wash ‘n Guard, and Ezdetailer. Below is a comparison of these major brands based on their quality, value, and performance after long-term testing.
IBIZ
IBIZ contains 17 emulsifiers and 10% wax. It is a non-abrasive formula that shines the surface of your vehicle. All you have to do is squirt it and wipe it off. Unlike water, which runs off, IBIZ sticks to the surface of your car. IBIZ is not meant to be used to clean your car, however. It is not as concentrated as other formulas on the market and is only designed to be used for pre-treatment and in-between detailing.
RGS Labs
RGS Labs produces FW1/Fast Wax, an all-in-one formula that effectively cleans light dirt on your vehicle. Although FW1/Fast Wax supposedly contains carnauba wax, it doesn't seem to create as resistant of a finish as other types of waterless car wash. Dry formulas offered by other brands create a longer lasting shine that beads water after rainstorms for months.
No Wet
No Wet is one of the most eco-friendly waterless auto detailing products available. It is made up of all organic ingredients and contains no kerosene, harmful silicones, or abrasive agents. The formula restores your car's paint finish by removing oxidation and creates a hard film that protects your vehicle's surface from acid rain residue, bugs, UV rays, tar, and more. The problem with No Wet is that it's difficult to wipe off, so it can cause you to accidentally scratch the surface of your vehicle.
Dri Wash ‘n Guard
Dri Wash ‘n Guard is one of the oldest waterless car washes on the market. It creates a protective seal on your vehicle that resists the penetration of dirt for weeks. All you have to do is spray it on your vehicle and use a terry cloth to buff it lightly in order to remove the dirt and the haze.
The disadvantages of using Dri Wash ‘n Guard include the fact that it has to be applied with a pump sprayer and that it is polish-based. Polish-based waterless car cleaners are not as good as carnauba wax-based products because they are abrasive and the protective coating they produce doesn't last as long. Competing brands of car wash (dry formulas) that boast the best performance are made with carnauba wax, a natural plant by-product that produces a deep, rich shine and durable protective finish.
Ezdetailer
Ezdetailer is an all-in-one cleaner containing carnauba wax that was formerly called Ezwax. Ezdetailer replaces most other detailing products because it cleans, shines, and protects your vehicle. It is easy to use because it comes in an aerosol can and has a sturdy spray tip.
Ezdetailer contains special lubricants and cleaning agents that surround and lift dirt particles on the surface of your vehicle. It contains carnauba wax, which leaves a haze that lasts for months and beads water for up to three months. Ezdetailer saves you 20 to 30 gallons of water every time you wash your vehicle.
