Anyone ever removed paper backed sheet vinyl from concrete?
If so, how did you get the paper backing off the concrete? I've tried sanding (slow), soaking in Henry Adhesive Remover (worthless) and using paint remover. Paint remover worked best, but I still had to scrape every bit off with a chisel. Surely there's something out there that works!
Go to a Professional flooring installation supplier and buy a citrus based solvent. Roll it on the floor and allow it to break down the adhesive under the paper. Then use a sharp scraper(also can be bought at the supplier) to scrape it up. It's going to take some work, but this is safest and doesn't leave a flammable residue behind. Do not sand, old vinyl flooring was made with asbestos!!!! Even the newer stuff emits a dust that will wreak havoc on your breathing. Not sure where you are, but L. Fishman and Son is the supplier in my area.
