Should You Use Dryer Sheets On Baby Clothes?
Dryer sheets are used to remove static on clothes and leave your laundry load smelling like a field of flowers. Unfortunately, there are downsides to using dryer sheets on your baby's clothes.
Majority of children's sleepwear is labeled "Flame Retardant." Unfortunately, the ingredients in fabric dryer sheets and other fabric softeners cover the flame retardancy of 100 % polyester sleepwear; which is why companies advise against the use of fabric dryer sheets and fabric softeners.
Also babies have extra sensitive skin. Dryer sheets and fabric softeners contain chemicals that could irritate your baby's skin. Even the tiniest amount of residue can lead to irritation. People and children with allergies are highly susceptible to the dangers of dryer sheets and fabric softeners.
Fabric softeners and conditioners all pose risks to your baby's well-being, but the most harmful of all are dryer sheets. The thing with laundry sheets is that it can get to your baby's clothes even if you don't use them directly. Studies show that if you use dryer sheets on a load of your clothes, the sheets leave a residue on the inside of your dryer that can stick to your next load of laundry. This means that if you run a load of the rest of your family's clothes with a dryer sheet, take them out, then immediate put in a load of your baby's laundry, there is a good chance that the residue will rub off on your baby's clothes. In fact, studies show that the residue can remain in your dryer and persist for several loads of laundry after the dryer sheets have been used. Fabric softeners on the other hand leave a sticky residue on al dryer components. This residue is flammable, which explains why the dryer is the leading cause of house fires.
On top of all that, dryer sheets also contribute to pollution and to the depletion of the ozone layer. Every time you put a dryer sheet into your dryer, dozens of toxic chemicals are being emitted into the air through your dryer vent. The fumes in emitted by fabric softeners also cause a number of symptoms including tiredness that is not cured by resting, difficulty breathing, nervousness for no known reason, difficulty concentrating and remembering, dizziness, headaches, sick stomach, feeling faint, rashes and/or difficulty controlling body movements.
Your only solution is to avoid possible irritants, which also means that you have to stop using dryer sheets all together.
If it cannot be avoided, opt for dryer sheets that non-toxic, hypoallergenic and bleach-, dye- and chemical-free. You can also use reusable dryer sheets. These sheets are made of specially woven cloth. According to the manufacturers of reusable dryer sheets, it is the weave of the cloth that lets the sheets conduct static of your laundry. Reusable dryer sheets are also hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and recommended for infants and people with eczema. Dryer balls are also alternative to dryer sheets. These balls work by lifting and separating laundry so clothes dry faster and as hot air moves more efficiently.

What size are the sheets for Amby Baby Hammock?
We are getting the Amby Baby Hammock for our daughter's firs baby due in a couple of months. I am making most of her bedding does anyone know the dimensions of the sheets or the pad that the sheets go on?

I gave mine away because my son hated it. The pad removes fairly easy to just throw the pad in the washer. In fact, I never knew they made sheets. If I had to guess, I would say 12" by 2 1/2 feet. It's pretty narrow and long. Sorry I can't be more help.
