where is cape cod located and what are some interesting things about the shore?
i doing a brochure thing and i need this information so if you know where it is or if you have ever been there please give me your opinion on it and some interesting things about cape cod
Cape Cod in located in Massachusetts. It is the part of massachusetts that looks like an arm. The cape is rich in history as well as beauty. The pilgrams first landed in what is now Provincetown, they later moved to Plymouth MA. In 1961, President John F. Kennedy signed a bill authorizing the establishment of Cape Cod National Seashore. A long-time summer resident of the Cape, J.F.K. had co-sponsored the legislation while in the Senate. The goal, he wrote, was "to preserve the natural and historic values of a portion of Cape Cod for the inspiration and enjoyment of people all over the United States." This was the first time the federal government had created a national park out of land that was primarily in private hands. Months of hearings and meetings were required to produce a bill that balanced private and public interests. Today the Seashore encompasses more than 43,000 acres and draws more than 4,000,000 visitors a year.
The cape has many different areas that vary greatly. The national seashore and open ocen begin in Eastham MA, thich is located at the "elbow" on the arm that is cape cod and streches to the tip in Provincetown. This part of the cape is far more rural than the rest and offers some of the greatest beaches in the world. The ocean side beach have large beautiful dunes and cliffs and large waves. The bayside offers calm seas and rolling dunes,
The lower cape is far more incorporated with Hyannis being the largest town and almost a city. This part of the cape has tons of hotels and activities for everyone.
The cape really is a huge place with varying offers for everyone. Concentrating on one area maybe helpful.
