5 Sailing Boats Introduction

Sailing is fashion water sport, sailing boats are necessary for sailing fans.  Now following I will introduce five kinds of sailing boats to you, they are Centerboard Boat, multihull vessel, Keel boat, Old Sailing and Windsurfing.

Centerboard Boat: There is a a balance rudder at the bottom. It is a light, flexible, inexpensive boat with a small rudder behind. One of the most popular sailboat in Olympics.

multihull vessel: It is formed by 2-3 hulls, the speed is fast, thrills operate.

Keel boat: There is a fixed bottom plate and the pressure to lead stable to stable hull. Reduce the hull mold shift. Large displacement, complex structure and expensive, people control, it is suitable for long-distance race and seas adventure.

Old Sailing: Big body type, antique design, multi-masted layout, decorated, suitable for outreach activities, entertainment, competitions and sailors at sea operational training.

Windsurfing: gymnastics fan who stood on a sliding board sailing, no rudder, only the tail fin crisis. Windsurfing rise in the last century the late 60s, a computer engineer from the United States repair Vance invention. There are several board-type panels, primarily turning wave boards and competitions board two categories. 1984 23rd Olympic Games, the sailing yacht events included in the 1992 Olympic Games added women's windsurfing.

It shows a yellow boat like figure that skates along ice, does anyone know what it actually is and if there are links to a certain site etc.

I think you mean ICE SAILING,
Many people consider ice sailing to be a recent development and a young trend sport much like bungee jumping or kite surfing. This is not the case. In fact, the origin of ice sailing dates back to the 18th century.

An ice boat (often spelled as "iceboat", once called an ice scooter) is a boat or purpose-built framework similar in appearance to a sail boat but fitted with skis or runners (skates) and designed to run over ice instead of (liquid) water, known in the sport as "soft water." Iceboats commonly used for racing are usually only for one person, but several classes of two-seat iceboats are common. On some boats, a "side car" can be fitted to take others along for a ride.

Traditional iceboats from the late 19th century were used for transportation and racing. These boats reached lengths of 30 to 50 feet and were transported between sites on rail cars. Sailing was done in several locations where the sport continues today with active clubs, including the Hudson River, Long Island Sound, Detroit, Michigan, Sandusky, Ohio, Gull Lake, Michigan, Geneva Lake, Wisconsin, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Ghost Lake, Alberta and others.

I live in Michigan and we get really long winters ( up to 6 months) so Ice sailing , sledding, skiing, Ice fishing and many winter sports help to ease the boredom ( or cabin fever:)
