Memories of years ago bring to life fond memories of times long gone by, that stir emotional feelings within us. Many of us have more than once found ourselves longing for the good old days with memories of that era bringing to mind the wonderful classic muscle cars that were a sign of the times back then. The legendary classic muscle cars of the good old days were an icon of its age and is still remembered and cherished by many. The popularity and elegance of these classic vehicles is proved by the sheer fact that there are still takers for them.

A broad look completed the hot macho feel. A search on the computer will throw up leads to these classic muscle cars and you can find links to information on Dodge Challenger R/T of 1971, Chevrolet Chevelle SS model of 1967 and 1970 cars such as the Plymouth Super bird, among others. Restored and modified models of them are now in great demand rousing the resale market. The prices for restored muscle cars are valued on the memories it brings to an average American and its condition.

 

There are various companies doing restoration works on muscle cars and other old vintage and classic ones. Restoring old and classic four wheelers including the muscle cars have become a good service industry now.

 

 

This vintage muscle car had a base price of just $2,727 and came with 427 cubic inches of pure Camaro terror and today there are plenty of clones that will cost you a handsome amount of money. If you were a "Chevy Driver" back in the 60s than you know that GM had a self-imposed 400-cu.in. limit on everything that rolled out of the factory besides large-sized boats and Corvettes. This was a shame because the 427 that Chevy offered was rated at 425 horse power and no doubt had the potential to clean up at the race track. Fact is that Ford and Mopars were mopping up out at the drag strips and this left one person by the name of Don Yenko a little upset to say the least.

 

For Don Yenko, knowing that GM had a motor that could potentially eat up any competition that came its way this was very frustrating and he decided to do something about this. Don Yenko was one of a few factory-connected Chevy-racer dealers that were located here and there across the country and had made a name for himself hopping up Corvettes and Corvairs at his dealership in Canonsburg,

 

After bouncing some ideas back and forth what they came up with is what we know of today as the COPO Camaro (or Central Office Production Order) vehicles. Generally COPOs were issued for fleet orders of 50 to 100 cars at a time involving boring cars like taxis or police cars and usually consisted of specific requirements and unavailable to the public. Well, at the time drag racing was a practical market, so when Don ordered 50 or 100 hundred at a time the powers to be held the back door open as Yenko snuck in and that is why this legendary muscle car lives today.

2. Using the terms input, output, processing, and memory, explain how you use a pocket calculator to add numbers.

You input the data by pressing the keys, you input the numbers that you want to add, with the plus sign between them, then you press the equal sign. The calculator retrieves the values from memory, processes them and outputs the sum.

3. How is an electronic device different from a machine that uses electrical energy?

A machine that uses electrical energy is like a lamp or a motor. It uses the electricity to perform a simple function, or do work. An electronic device typically uses electricity to convert electricity to information and to process it.

5. A friend asks you why vintage radios are so large. How do you explain the size?

Vacuum tubes, which were the predecessors of transistors, typically were four to six inches tall and an inch to an inch and a half in diameter. They also required transformers to supply direct current at the correct voltage. A typical radio would hav six to eight vacuum tubes.Tubes also would generate heat as a byproduct, and it was necessary to leave room to ventilate the heat. Radios were also considered furniture, since a family would sit around the radio listening to it, and the larger size was a status symbol.
