Smoothie Makers - What You Probably Don't Know

Smoothies have now become part of our health-conscious lifestyle. A few pieces of fresh or frozen fruit, a cup or two of water, some ice and a serving of yogurt, and you have a drink that's not only healthy but delicious as well. Athletes usually add protein powder mixes to their smoothie to make it more nutritious. Those who would like to take their fitness level up a notch include half a head of lettuce and some carrots to make green smoothies that they can take for breakfast or as mid-afternoon snacks.

The question of where to make these healthy drinks has dominated discussion boards on the subject. Some opine that a smoothie maker is where smoothies should be concocted. After all, they were made for the purpose. Others, meanwhile, report that a powerful blender is a better alternative. We're more inclined to agree with the smoothie maker fans.

game coding using game maker question?

im making a video game as a project, i have a pretty general undertsanding of the program (Game maker8). i have done a lot of tutorials, but none have covered the question im asking.

here is my prob:
my character walks left and right, has an idle pose, i will change the object for when he's attacking, but when he is facing right, lets say you use the control key as a generic attack, he will punch.. how do i code him so when he's facing left and you press control, he attacks using the left punch object...? (same with jumping, being knocked down etc) and also, how to i make him unable to move while attacking?

I know i can used a variable to do this, how do i make a variable to keep track on which direction my character is looking? and how do i apply it? please be specific, or if you know of a tutorial that demonstrates this i would very much appreciate it!!

I can help you do everything except make your person able to move AFTER he is done attacking. I don't know the specifics of that program, so you'll have to figure it out.

Make 3 variables: LeftFacing, RightFacing, and Attacking.

in your opening lines of code, set all 3 to false.

Add"RightFacing = true" and "LeftFacing = false" to your code that makes your character move right, and add"RightFacing = false" and "LeftFacing = true" to your code that makes your character move left.

in your code that says something like "If Button 1 == pressed..." right under that add "If LeftFacing == true..." and add the code that makes your character animate attacking left. Do the same for the right.

Also, to make your person unable to move while he attacks, add "Attacking = true" inside of your "If Button 1 == pressed..." code.

Place the code that moves your character left and right ALL inside of a piece of code that says "If Attacking == false"

To recap it should look like this:
LeftFacing = false
RightFacing = false
Attacking = false

If (attacking == false){
if (left button){
walk left
LeftFacing = true
RightFacing = false
}
if (right button)
walk right
RightFacing = true
LeftFacing = false
}
}

if (attack button){
attacking = true
