Front Handspring on vault help pleeeeeeeeeeeeeasee?

I'm a pretty lanky gymnast i have a lot of power it's just i really suck on vault. Maybe it's because of my height but when i competed a flat back it was always my lowest score. On a flatback!!! which lasts like 2 seconds!!! Anywho my coach says my power will come in handy now cuz i'm going to compete a FHS but my back is too flexible. I run really hard, jump on the horse, block off but my back arches and once i hit my back on the horse. I developed a mental block and get extreme butterflies when we go to vault. I've done it once with another coach and landed it fine, i just really need some tips on doing a solid vault. I don't wanna come in second at states again because of this stupid event lol. thanxxx

Remember to always start from the same place everytime, like I used to start at 71 on my vault. Also do you have a good handstand? One without an arch and with strong shoulders. I used to do alot of handstand pops, to practice on pushing through my shoulders with alot of power. The reason your back is arching is probably because you are not staying tight and squeezing your booty, abs, and legs. And also having a routine in your head can help alot, like every time beofre you vault think to yourself, run fast, tight, push through my shoulders. It really helps alot!
