A great site for planning a trip to Walt Disney World

Despite the fact that Walt Disney never saw the fruition of Disney World even though he was still alive, it was genuinely his concept to create it. That is why relating the history of Disney World would naturally start with him. His concept lived on even soon after he died via his brother, Roy Disney.

 

Walt Disney's Concept

Walt Disney didn't just want another Disneyland. He dreamed of one thing much more than Disneyland and but similar to it. He still wanted to bring entertainment in his theme parks. But he wanted to have a place where he could constantly add or develop something new to his original park and structures. Not merely that, he wanted to test his ideas of urban planning via this project. True sufficient, what now emerged as the EPCOT or the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow was actually sprung out of his suggestions.

From Opening Up to Present Day

Walt Disney World opened in October 1, 1971, five years later after the death of Walt Disney. It opened up with Disney's Contemporary Resort, Polynesian Resort and Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.

 

In the following year, Disney's Village Resort with the tree house along with the vacation villas was added. Then Disney's Golf Resort and Discovery Island had been next opened in the next two years. In 1975, the Fairway Villas and the Walt Disney Village Marketplace had been built up.

 

Come June 1976, Disney's River Country Water Park was added. In 1980, the Walt Disney World Conference Center and an additional village resort, the Club Lake villas, were put up. Then in 1982, EPCOT came about.

 

In 1988, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Caribbean Beach Resort became obtainable. And then 1989, a lot more parks had been added. The MGM Studios, the Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Pleasure Island were opened.

 

In the years 1990 to 1992, a lot more resorts had been produced for the guests. These were Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resort, Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin Resort, Port Orleans Resort, Old Key West Resort and Disney's Dixie Landings Resort. Disney Vacation Club and Bonnet Creek Golf Club had been also added to the growing Walt Disney World.

 

In 1994, Disney's All-Star Sports Resort and Disney's Wilderness Lodge were produced accessible. Then in 1995, Disney's All-Star Music Resort, Blizzard Beach Water Park and Fairytale Wedding Pavilion were installed.

 

The following year, the Disney Institute and Disney's Boardwalk Resort became prepared. The Coronado Springs Resort followed in 1997. Disney's Wide World of Sports and Downtown Disney West Side came that very same year too; although Disney's Animal Kingdom and Disney Quest just came in 1998. In 1999, it was Disney's All-Star Movies Resort that was added. In 2001 and 2003, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and Pop Century Resort were added respectively. Finally, Disney's Saratoga's Springs Resort and Spa came about in 2004.

 

This completes the list of facilities made available via the years. The history of Disney World has really come a lengthy way and it still continues each day as it touches the lives of several of its guests.

What's Disney World like during the third week of october?

I've been to Disney 4 times.
We're planning a trip for this fall break(20th-24th) a short mini vacation to the world!
We have been in Christmas and in the summer time.
Never in the fall.
What's it like?
Is it cooler than the summer?
Is it less crowded?
ect.

Third week in October is the best time to go IMHO.
All the Halloween decorations are up at the Magic Kingdom, and you can go to Mickeys Not-So-Scary Halloween party, which has an incredible Boo-to-You parade and Happy HalloWishes fireworks show. They will be held on 10/21, 10/22, and 10/24 while you are there.
The Food and Wine Festival is on at Epcot, different countries have their own food sample-size portion kiosks all around World Showcase. Here is the menu.... http://allears.net/tp/ep/fw10/fw10_booths.htm
If you have the Disney Dining Plan, you can even use your snack credits at the kiosks!
There are also seminars and dining experiences. I have not had the chance to go to any of them yet.
They have Eat to the Beat concerts at Epcot at night, .38 Special and Night Ranger will be playing while you are there.
The weather is beautiful, warm enough to go swimming, cool enough to walk around without sweating to death. The crowds are very reasonable, and using fastpasses for the busier rides, we never wait on line for more than a few minutes. According to one website where I did research, that week is one of the top 5 least crowded weeks of the year.
We will be there while you are there! It will be our third year in a row going that week. We always have a great time, hope you do too!
