Cello Bags Vs Polyethylene Bags
The tricky part is that many people do not know the difference between them. It is not uncommon to see or hear people referring to cellophane as polyethylene, and vice versa. Cellophane
Cellophane is a transparent grease-resistant and moisture-resistant film produced from viscose. It was invented by a Swiss textile engineer in 1911. In 1913, France began to manufacture it on a large scale. It became the first moisture-resistant and flexible packaging in the world. However, after the invention of polyethylene in the 1950s, cellophane started to be replaced by this new material.
Cello bags are typically used for foods (meats, cheeses, candy, cookies, etc.), as well as for small gifts and cards (greeting cards, florist cards). Polyethylene is separated into 3 types: HDPE (High Density Polythene), MDPE (Medium Density Polythene), and LDPE (Low Density Polythene). The HDPE is used for durable bags with regular or reinforced patch handles or loop handles. The LDPE is used for lightweight T-shirt bags. These are more capacious; besides, they are the most affordable type of packaging.
Custom Printed Cellophane and Polyethylene
Both types of materials (cellophane and polyethylene) can be custom printed in full color. They can be used for placing text or graphics onto them, such as for marketing and gifts. How to display jewellery for market?
Im doing a market in a few weeks, its a chillifest. I sell a range of plastic jewellery and other things. Ive started to put all my necklaces in packaging (backing card in cello bags) and im looking for the best way to display it for the market. Something quirky and interesting but easy for people to get at and lift things off.
What I did that worked really well, was I found two antique picture frames the same size without the glass, drilled holes inside the trim where the glass would have sat, took wire hangers apart, straightened them out and cut them into lengths to fit into the holes so you have a line across the frame where the picture would have been at one time. I drilled the holes about every four to six inches from each other to leave space to hang the jewellery. I hinged the two picture frames together at the top so it sat as an A-frame and could display from both sides. This worked well for earrings. As far as necklaces, I used a wooden clothes drying rack and hung the necklaces on the rods, or I suppose you could use tacks, s-hooks or small nails to hang the necklaces from. Brooches, just laid flat on mirrors on the table looks good, or use crumpled fabric like satin and place the brooches among the folds of fabric.
